Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Director of Accounting to lead our accounting department. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all facets of our financial operations, from monthly and annual accounting close to the annual audit process and M&A activities.

Primary Responsibilities:
Ownership of monthly and annual accounting close: Ensure accurate and timely delivery of the company’s financials.

Consolidation and Reporting: Compile, verify, and present complex financial information to support senior leadership and key stakeholders.

Management Reporting: Develop and present detailed and accurate reports for company leadership to facilitate strategic decision-making.

Oversee company-wide revenue recognition (ASC 606) and related COGS accounting: Ensure accurate recognition, reporting, and disclosure of revenues and expenses in accordance with ASC 606.

General Ledger Account Reconciliations: Oversee and ensure the timely and accurate reconciliation of all general ledger accounts. Preparing, reviewing, approving, and posting manual journal entries for the General Ledger.

Bank Reconciliations: Verify the company’s records with bank statements to ensure financial integrity.

Lead Annual Audit Process: Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors, preparing necessary reports, statements, and financial records.

M&A Activities: Lead purchase accounting and intangibles allocation/valuations for any potential mergers or acquisitions.

Tax Compliance: Oversee tax provision, and compliance, and support annual income tax preparation to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA license and Big 4 Public Accounting or equivalent experience strongly preferred.
• A minimum of 7 years of accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge and application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and ASC 606.
• Experience with mergers and acquisitions, tax compliance, and audit processes.
• Proven ability to lead and manage a team, with strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, organizational, and multitasking skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and demonstrated ability to think strategically.
• Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
