Privacy Policy.
What this website collects, why, and who handles it. Written to describe what actually happens, not to describe an industry standard.
This policy covers arktci.com. It describes the information this website collects, why it is collected, and who processes it on Ark Technology Consultants' behalf. Ark may hold information about clients from sources other than this website — contracts, support tickets, billing — which is governed separately by the agreements in place with those clients.
Information this website collects
What you send us through the contact form. The form at arktci.com/contact asks for your first name, last name, work email address, and, optionally, a phone number and your organization's name. It also records the choices you make from the form's menus — organization size, what you're working on, when you want to start, and how you'd prefer to be reached — along with anything you type into the message field. The submission also records which page of this site you sent it from, so that whoever replies knows what you were reading when you got in touch.
Only first name, last name, and work email are required. Everything else is optional, including the message. Please don't put confidential, regulated, or sensitive personal information in the message field; it is a sales inquiry form, not a secure channel.
Standard technical information. Like effectively every website, this one is served by a hosting provider that keeps operational logs. Those logs record things such as IP address, browser user agent, the pages requested, and timestamps. Ark does not add any logging of its own on top of that, and does not use these logs to build a profile of you.
That is the complete list. This website does not run analytics software, advertising pixels, a tag manager, session-recording or heatmap tools, or any third-party marketing tracker. It does not set advertising or analytics cookies. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing non-essential to ask you about.
Why it is collected, and how inquiries are handled
Contact form submissions are used for one purpose: to read your inquiry and respond to it, and to have the resulting conversation about whether Ark can help. Someone at Ark reads the message and replies or routes it to the right person.
Submitting the form does not enroll you in a mailing list, a newsletter, or an automated marketing sequence. There is no marketing opt-in on the form, and no box is pre-checked on your behalf. If Ark ever adds one, it will be an explicit, unchecked choice.
Information stored in your own browser
To save you retyping on a return visit, this site stores your first name, last name, email address, and organization in your browser's localStorage after you submit the contact form. This is a convenience feature only.
That data stays on your device. It is not a cookie, it is not transmitted to Ark separately, and it is not readable by any other website. Clearing your browser's site data for arktci.com removes it. Using private or incognito browsing prevents it from persisting at all.
Service providers
Netlify hosts this website and processes contact form submissions on Ark's behalf. When you submit the form, the contents go to Netlify's form-handling service, which stores the submission and notifies Ark. Netlify also operates the servers that deliver the site and that keep the technical logs described above.
Airtable receives a second copy of the same submission. Ark keeps a table there to track inquiries and make sure each one gets a reply. It holds the same fields listed above and nothing else. The copy is sent by this website's own server rather than by your browser, so your browser never contacts Airtable and Airtable is not able to set anything on your device.
Your submission goes to both services at once, deliberately. If one of them is unavailable when you press send, the other still has your message, so an inquiry is not lost to a technical fault.
Ark does not sell personal information, and does not share contact form submissions with third parties for those third parties' own marketing purposes. Information may be shared where Ark is legally required to do so, or where it is necessary to establish or defend a legal claim.
Embedded video
A few pages include a YouTube video. These are not loaded as ordinary embeds. What you see before you press play is a still image, and pressing play is what loads the player — so if you never press play, the YouTube player never loads and sets nothing on your device.
Two things follow from that. First, the still image itself is requested from Google's image servers when the page loads, which means Google can see that a request was made, along with the technical details any web request carries. Second, once you press play, the player is loaded from youtube-nocookie.com and your interaction with it is subject to Google's privacy policy rather than this one. Each video also has a plain link to YouTube beneath it if you would rather watch it there.
Assessment tools
This site contains several self-assessment tools that are not currently part of the public site, are not linked from navigation, and are not accepting submissions. They score answers in your browser and send nothing anywhere. If Ark brings them back, this policy will be updated first to describe what they collect.
If this changes
If Ark later adds analytics, advertising, or any other tracking technology to this website, this notice will be updated to describe it before that tool goes live, and Ark will implement whatever consent mechanism the tool and the applicable jurisdictions require. The current absence of tracking is a deliberate choice, not an oversight.
Ark may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the bottom of this page indicates when the current version took effect.
How long submissions are kept
Contact form submissions are retained for as long as needed to respond to the inquiry and to maintain a record of the business relationship or conversation that followed.
If you would like a submission you made deleted, write to compliance@arktci.com and Ark will remove it, subject to any records Ark is required to keep.
Security
This site is served over HTTPS. Ark and its service providers apply administrative and technical safeguards intended to protect the information described here. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and Ark cannot guarantee absolute security — which is the reason for the request above not to send sensitive information through a sales inquiry form.
Children
This is a business-to-business website. It is not directed to children, and Ark does not knowingly collect personal information from children through it.
